01

Welcome to the party

Party Game is a live social space built around rooms — small virtual venues where up to twenty players walk around as avatars, talk over public chat, trade gifts, and trigger shared visual effects that everyone in the room sees at the same moment. There's no win condition and no level to clear. The point is the room itself: who's in it, what they're saying, and what happens next.

This handbook covers every feature a new player runs into in their first session, in roughly the order you'll encounter them — from joining a room to understanding how the referral program rewards you for bringing friends along.

New here? Skim the table of contents on the left (or the chip bar above on mobile) and jump straight to whatever you're trying to figure out — you don't need to read this start to finish.
02

Setting up your player

Your account is built around three things you'll see constantly: a username, an avatar image, and a Star balance shown with a star icon in the top bar of every room. You can update your avatar and details any time from the Profile page, reachable from the 👤 icon in the room header.

From the room list, pick any open room and step inside. Rooms marked with a 💎 are VIP-only — more on those in chapter 13 — everything else is open to all players. Each room shows a live headcount in the format (0/20) so you always know how full it is before you walk in.

  • Tasks (🎯 icon) — daily and ongoing objectives that reward Stars when completed.
  • Leaderboard (🏆 icon) — see how your activity stacks up against other players.
  • Shop (+ Buy button) — top up your Star balance directly.
03

Moving around the room

Movement is simple: click or tap anywhere on the room floor and your avatar walks there, playing a short walking animation as it goes. Other players in the room see you move in real time — there's no separate "go" button, the room just updates live for everyone watching.

Each room has an exit, shown as a door icon. Stepping through it takes you to the next active room in sequence, which is the fastest way to room-hop if a space feels quiet or you're looking for a different crowd.

04

Public chat

Type into the chat box at the bottom of the screen and press Enter or hit Send. Your message appears as a speech bubble directly above your avatar for a few seconds, so everyone in the room can see who said what without scrolling a separate chat log. It's built for quick, in-the-moment banter rather than long conversation threads.

A quick 👋 wave is available as a one-tap shortcut from the effects panel — useful for greeting someone without typing a full message.

05

Private messages

If you want to talk to one person without the rest of the room reading it, tap their avatar and choose P-MSG from the interaction menu. This opens a private message window — separate from the public chat bubbles — where only you and that player can see what's written. Sent messages animate as a small paper plane flying across the screen, and if you receive a message while the window is closed, a notification badge pops up so you don't miss it.

Good to know: private messages stay private to the two participants. Anything said over public chat, on the other hand, is visible to the whole room — keep that distinction in mind before sharing anything personal.
06

Sending gifts

Tap a player's avatar, choose 🎁 Send Gift, and pick from the gift menu. Your gift flies visibly from your avatar to theirs, spinning as it travels, then "lands" with an animation that matches its category. Every gift costs Stars, deducted from your balance the moment it's sent, and a notification announces the gift to the whole room.

Gifts fall into five reaction styles — knowing the difference helps you pick the right one for the moment:

🍅

Burst

Impact gifts — think tomatoes or eggs — that splatter on landing and leave the recipient's avatar shaking it off.

Consume

Food and drink gifts that hover near the avatar's mouth, as if they're being eaten or sipped.

👑

Wear

Crowns, caps and rings that pop into place and sit on the avatar like a wearable accessory.

🌸

Shower

Flowers, fireworks and balloons that rain down gently over the recipient from above.

🎁

Generic

Everything else — pops into view with a friendly bounce and floats beside the avatar.

Whichever category, the gift stays visible on the recipient's avatar for about ten seconds before fading — long enough for the room to notice and react.

07

Player interactions

Beyond gifts, the interaction menu (tap any avatar) includes five playful actions you can aim at another player, each costing a small number of Stars and playing a short animation on their avatar that the whole room can see:

🖐️

Slap

A quick comic slap with a hand-swipe animation.

🫂

Hug

A warm hug animation between two avatars.

💋

Kiss

A floating kiss icon with a soft glow on the recipient.

🔨

Hammer

An exaggerated cartoon hammer-bonk.

🔫

Gunshot

A theatrical "gunshot" jolt — purely visual, all in good fun.

These are meant as lighthearted banter between players who are enjoying themselves together — use your judgment about who's actually up for it.

08

Personal avatar effects

The effects panel (🎮 icon, bottom-left) also has a grid of effects you can apply to your own avatar — useful for standing out, celebrating, or just messing around. Each costs a few Stars and plays for several seconds: Dance, Spin, Jump, Pulse, Shake, Float, Ghost, Grow, Angry, Sleep and Tea each give your avatar a distinct animated personality, from a heartbeat glow to a sleepy "Zzz" cloud.

09

Room-wide mega effects

These are the showpiece feature: full-screen effects that transform the entire room for everyone inside it at once, each with its own sound design. Trigger one from the effects panel and it broadcasts instantly to every player present.

⛈️

Rain & Lightning

A darkened sky, falling rain and randomly timed lightning strikes with thunder.

~8s10⭐
🎈

Flying Balloons

A burst of colorful balloons rising across the whole screen.

~7s10⭐
🎆

Fireworks

Rockets launch, burst and spark over the room with a matching soundtrack.

~12s10⭐
🦕

Stampede

A herd of animals — dinosaurs, elephants, lions and more — runs across the floor, with a star-pop animation on anyone they "hit".

~14s10⭐
🌊

Tsunami / Flood

Water rises across the room, fish swim past, and every avatar switches to a swimming animation until it drains away.

~13s10⭐
❄️

Blizzard

Snow and ice crystals fill the screen as avatars visibly freeze and shiver.

~12s10⭐
🌙

Moonset Night

A glowing moon rises, stars twinkle in, shooting stars streak by, and avatars pick up a soft moonlit tint.

~12s10⭐
👽

Alien Invasion

A UFO descends, drops a beam of light, and fires playful laser zaps at players in the room.

~12s15⭐
💡

Colorful Lights

Carnival-style string lights — still, blinking, and scrolling strands — wash over the room.

~12s10⭐
💕

Love Fireworks

Heart-shaped fireworks, drifting hearts and cupid's arrows, with a "Love is in the Air" banner.

~10s10⭐
😱

Horror

The room goes dark, a giant eye appears, and a flickering "BOO" message takes over the screen with a scream sound.

~5s15⭐

Because these broadcast to the entire room, they're often used to mark a moment — someone joining, a celebration, or just to liven things up when a room's gone quiet.

10

Watching video together

Most rooms include a shared video screen near the top of the floor. Open the 📺 playlist button to browse available videos and pick one — it costs Stars to start playback, and once selected, it plays for everyone currently in the room at the same time, turning the space into a small shared viewing party rather than something only you control.

11

Earning & spending Stars

Stars are the currency behind gifts, effects, interactions and shared video — your balance sits visibly in the top bar of every room. You don't need to spend a cent to earn them:

  • Hourly Bonus — a floating bonus box appears in the room roughly once an hour. Tap it within its short window to claim a free Star reward before it disappears.
  • Tasks — daily and recurring objectives in the Tasks tab that pay out Stars on completion.
  • Leaderboard — active, well-ranked players are positioned for periodic rewards.
  • Referrals — covered in detail in the next chapter.
  • Shop — for players who'd rather skip the grind, Stars can also be purchased directly.
12

Referral program: invite friends, earn together

Every player has a unique referral code sitting in their Profile. Share it with a friend, and when they sign up using your code and become active in a room, both of you receive a Star bonus — it's a two-way reward, not just a finder's fee.

Your referral code lives on your Profile page and looks like this:

PARTY-7F3KQ2

Invites also stack into milestone rewards — the more friends you bring in who stick around, the bigger the bonus:

5 friendsBonus Star pack
20 friendsBonus pack + profile badge
50+ friendsTop inviter leaderboard spot

Track exactly who joined through your code, and which rewards you've already claimed, from the Profile page at any time.

13

VIP rooms & room hosts

Rooms marked with a 💎 icon are reserved for VIP members — the room mechanics inside are identical to any other room, but the crowd and atmosphere are curated for VIP players specifically. VIP status is reflected next to your name and avatar wherever you go.

Some rooms also have an official host, recognizable by a red-bordered avatar and a 👑 ADMIN badge above their head. Hosts can occasionally gift a Star bonus to players in the room as a welcome or appreciation gesture — if you see one drop into your room, it's worth saying hello.

14

Player safety & fair play

🔒 Protecting your account

Never share your password with anyone, including someone claiming to be staff. Use a unique password for your Party Game account, and treat your private message window as just that — private — rather than a place to share sensitive personal details like your address, financial information, or other accounts.

🤝 Treating other players well

Interactions like slap, hammer or gunshot are designed as light, consensual fun between players who are enjoying the moment together. If something said in public chat or a private message makes you uncomfortable, step away from that conversation and reach out to a room host — you're never obligated to keep talking to someone.

⭐ Spending responsibly

Stars are a virtual, in-room currency meant for entertainment — gifts, effects, and shared video — and carry no cash value outside the game. If you choose to top up through the Shop, treat it as entertainment spending: decide on a budget beforehand and stick to it, the same way you would for any other paid leisure activity.

👪 A note for younger players

Party Game is a live, public social space, and public chat is visible to everyone in the room. Families with younger players should review the room list together, talk through the basics in this handbook first, and keep an eye on which rooms are being used.

🛡️

Reviewed by the Party Game Community & Safety Team

This handbook is maintained by the team that monitors live rooms day to day and updates room features. It's reviewed every time a new effect, gift category or program — like the referral system — ships, so the descriptions here match what's actually in the rooms right now.

Frequently asked questions

Is Party Game free to play?
Yes. Creating a player, joining rooms, walking around and chatting cost nothing. Stars are only needed for extras like gifts, effects and shared video, and you can earn Stars for free through the hourly bonus, tasks and the referral program.
What are Stars and how do I get them?
Stars are Party Game's in-room currency, shown with a star icon in the top bar. Earn them from the hourly bonus box, daily tasks, leaderboard placement and referrals, or top up instantly from the Shop.
How does the referral program work?
Each player gets a personal referral code on their Profile page. When a friend signs up with your code and becomes active, you both receive a Star bonus, and hitting invite milestones unlocks extra rewards and a profile badge.
Can I message just one person instead of the whole room?
Yes — tap their avatar and choose P-MSG. That opens a private window only the two of you can see, completely separate from the public chat bubbles everyone else reads above your heads.
How long do room-wide effects last?
Most mega effects run for roughly 8 to 14 seconds and play for the entire room at once. Gifts that land on a specific avatar stay visible on them for about 10 seconds.
What's different about VIP rooms?
VIP rooms, marked with a diamond icon, work exactly like regular rooms mechanically — the difference is they're reserved for VIP members, with a curated crowd and atmosphere.
Is it safe to chat with strangers in public rooms?
Public chat is visible to everyone in the room, so treat it the way you would any public space — keep personal details private, and move on from any conversation that makes you uncomfortable. See chapter 14 for full safety guidance.
